Bout Duration
  • All non-championship bouts shall be 3 rounds
  • All championship bouts shall be 5 rounds
  • Rounds will be 5 minutes in duration
  • A 1 minute rest period will occur between each round
Attire & Protective Gear
  • Fighters shall wear approved fight shorts (board shorts, bike pants, boxing style, thai style, MMA shorts preferred) with no pockets or exposed ties.
  • Fighters shall not wear footwear of any kind, except for approved ankle and knee supports, or approved strapping
  • Minimal supportive strapping is to be used to the hands and any injured areas.
  • An official prior to the fight will inspect all taping & gloves. Hand taping shall be inspected and signed off by an official.
  • Minimal Vaseline to the eyebrow area and facial cuts (along with adrenaline solution) only.
  • Fighters shall not apply any foreign substance to their body including lubricative substance or heat balm.
  • All fighters must wear the following equipment during the competition:
    • 4-Ounce Fingerless Gloves (to be supplied by promoter)
    • Standard Mouthpiece
    • Only approved strapping of gauze and tape - no hand wraps allowed
    • Groin Guard
Ways to Win
  • Physical tap out.
  • Verbal tap out.
  • Technical knockout by the referee stopping the contest.
  • Ring doctor stops the contest.
  • Judge's decision.
  • If the opponents’ Cornerman throws in the towel or requests a stoppage
Foul Techniques
  • If a minor foul is committed the referee will not stop the fight but warns the fighter of the foul
  • If the referee decides the foul is more extreme or the fighter continues to commit the same foul; the referee is to stop the fight, notify each judge of the foul and how many points are to be deducted from the offending fighter.
  • Judges are not to deduct any points from a fighter unless the referee instructs them to
Fouls (Prohibited Moves)
  • Butting of head.
  • Eye gouging of any kind.
  • Biting.
  • Hair pulling.
  • Fish hooking.
  • Groin attacks of any kind.
  • Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.
  • Small joint manipulation.
  • Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
  • Throat strikes of any kind including without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
  • Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
  • Grabbing the clavicle.
  • Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.
  • Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
  • Stomping on a grounded opponent.
  • Kicking to the kidney with a heel.
  • Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
  • Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
  • Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.
  • Spitting at an opponent.
  • Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent.
  • Holding the ropes or fences.
  • Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.
  • Attacking an opponent on or during the break.
  • Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee.
  • Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat.
  • Flagrantly disregarding the instruction of the referee.
  • Timidity, including without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury.
  • Interference by the corner.
  • Exceeding numbers of cornermen.
  • Unauthorized cornerman.
Judges Scoring
Judges shall use the 10 point must system as below. Fighters shall be awarded 10 points at the start of each round. A judge will return a round score:
  • 10-10 Even round.
  • 10-9 Advantage round (10 points awarded to the superior fighter).
  • 10-8 Dominant round (10 points awarded to the clearly dominant fighter).
Weight Category
Heavyweight 93 kg and above
Cruiserweight 87 – 93kg
Light Heavyweight 80 – 87kg
Middleweight 73 – 80kg
Lightweight 67 – 73 kg
Featherweight 60 – 67 kg
Flyweight 60 kg and below
